“My mommy always said there were no monsters – no real ones – but there are.” quoted Newt to Ripley. In space no one can hear you scream. The very successful sequel to Alien, Aliens directed by James Cameron was an amazing piece of cinema history. James Cameron took the Aliens mythos and rocketed it into a larger universe. Knowing Riply escaped from the original attack we find her again battling Aliens all over again.
What is the plot of this space horror film? Here it is…After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley’s (Sigourney Weaver) shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt(Carrie Henn). But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.
The Music is done by the now deceased James Horner, who in my opinion is the sound of the alien films. He gives us the sweeping space opera sounds along with the haunting invading aliens pieces that add to the mystery and horror of the film. I think this movie gets 10 stars, 11 with the score alone.
