Hi I’m Randy, I haven’t released any new podcast episode lately so I thought why not go back to form for a bit to highlight a score of the day. This one is Blue Archive 4th Anniversary Original Soundtrack. The composers are pulled through Nexon and there are a variety of different ones.
Just briefly here is a brief history on the game and anime.
- The Game: Released in 2021 by Nexon Games and MX Studio, Blue Archive is a tactical role-playing gacha game where you play as “Sensei,” a teacher guiding armed student factions in the academic city-state of Kivotos. You can play it on mobile (Android/iOS) or PC.
- The Anime: Titled Blue Archive The Animation, it is a 12-episode television anime series that aired from January to March 2025 (adapting the game’s first main story volume). [1, 2, 3, 4]
The score to this album is very reminiscent of the original game music that was put out back in 2021
I’ve already found that some of the cues are reminders of the original score that came out. A specific cue I enjoyed was Down the Rabbit Hole, and then my most current relisten is the cue Hunter Bible. It reminds me of two of the cues mixed together.
There is mostly all techno and synth music for this game score anniversary album. I found it upbeat and sensible for what it should be.
The game play for Blue Archive is unique and progressive for the entire album.
My advice, play the game and get absorbed into the music.
Until next time enjoy your scores and happy Listening.
