A world within a book, a book within a boys dream. What quest does Atreyu go on? Where does his quest take him? Who is the Gmork? What is the Sea of Sadness? These are questions raised in the Fantasy tale of The Neverending Story. The film revolves around a book that writes itself for someone else who is living it. A boy named Bastion who seems to have no father or mother in the story. Here is the basic plot…

On his way to school, Bastian (Barret Oliver) ducks into a bookstore to avoid bullies. Sneaking away with a book called “The Neverending Story,” Bastian begins reading it in the school attic. The novel is about Fantasia, a fantasy land threatened by “The Nothing,” a darkness that destroys everything it touches. The kingdom needs the help of a human child to survive. When Bastian reads a description of himself in the book, he begins to wonder if Fantasia is real and needs him to survive.

The score is done by Klaus Doldinger and its a very epic Fantasy score as well. We also get the fantastic song The Neverending Story.
