“Me? I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you,” said Baby.

Dirty Dancing is my wife’s personal favorite movie. She loves the whole story as well as the great soundtrack. This movie made the 80’s feel like it was back in the 50’s and 60’s for all the great songs used in the film.  It’s a great dancing soundtrack and fun to sing along with.

What is the plot of Dirty Dancing?  Here it is…Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.

The film was directed by Emile Ardolino and the Soundtrack is by Various Artist. There is a Ultimate Soundtrack as well as the Regular Soundtrack for the film. The featured song of course is I’ve Had the Time of My Life. It’s the first in the series of films with the same name. There have been two other films with Dirty Dancing in the title.

Some fun facts about the film are The very famous scene where Johnny and Baby are practicing their dancing and they are crawling towards each other on the floor wasn’t intended to be part of the film; they were just messing around and were warming up to do the real scene, but the director liked it so much he kept it in the film.

Another great scene in the film is in the scene where Johnny and Baby are practicing dancing, and she keeps laughing when he runs his arm down hers, it was not part of the scene; she was actually laughing and his frustration was genuine. They left it because it was effective. Her falling over in this scene was unplanned too.

Those are just a bit of trivia for the film.

You can find the soundtrack to the Ultimate Edition on Amazon, as well as the normal soundtrack on Amazon.

You can also find both of those on ITunes. Here is the link to the Anniversary Edition.
