Daisy Werthan: Did you have the air-conditioning checked? I told you to have the air-conditioning checked.

Hoke Colburn: I had the air-conditioning checked. I don’t know what for. You never allow me to turn it on.

Daisy Werthan: Hush up!

It’s not very often that I choose a sentimental soundtrack. This one, I couldn’t pass up. You have the talents of Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy and Dan Aykroyd.  Also its one of the earlier works of composer Hans Zimmer.

The film won several academy awards and gained respect in the filming industry.

Here is the basic plot…Daisy Werthan (Jessica Tandy), an elderly Jewish widow living in Atlanta, is determined to maintain her independence. However, when she crashes her car, her son, Boolie (Dan Aykroyd), arranges for her to have a chauffeur, an African-American driver named Hoke Colburn (Morgan Freeman). Daisy and Hoke‘s relationship gets off to a rocky start, but they gradually form a close friendship over the years, one that transcends racial prejudices and social conventions.

The film was directed by Bruce Beresford and it is a must see film.
