How did you begin with cosplaying and why?

I went to my very first Comic Con in 2015. I knew some people would dress up and so I decided I wanted to dress up too. I was amazed at how big cosplaying really is and that people have even made it their profession. That’s when I decided I wanted to be able to do that too!

What attracted you to the medium in the first place?

Growing up I was always super shy. So I think being able to dress up and take on this new character helped me to open up and even gain more self-confidence.

Who has been your greatest influence for cosplay and why?

There are so many amazing cosplayers out there! I would say Jessica Nigri really inspired me the most starting out.

What materials do you use regularly and what ones would you like to use?

Since I’m still so new to this I mainly try to buy things that I can put together myself or alter. I do a lot of sewing and I’ve made some stuff out of 2-part epoxy clay.

Do you sew your patterns together for the costume side of things

I have yet to sew something from scratch, but I alter almost all my costumes to get the fit just right. Baby steps!

What is your favorite cosplay and why?

I think my favorite so far would have to be 2B from Nier Automata. I was my first real cosplay, and the katana is awesome!

How do you react to fans of your cosplay?

It really makes you feel good when someone takes the time to tell you they appreciate the work you are doing. I couldn’t do what I do without them!

If you could do a dream cosplay from the past or present what would it be and why?

One I would love to do in the future is Cortana (from Halo) Maybe one day!

What conventions do you attend frequently and what ones would you like to attend in the future?

I haven’t been to one in a while but next year I plan to. I might do St. Louis Wizard World next year.

I’ve got a few lined up for the next month. I’ll mention one I’m going to do soon, Wednesday Addams.
