“I’ve decided to write the story down; as it was, not as John made it. Get it right, before I die.” Sherlock Holmes quoted.

This film was fantastic! Mr. Holmes was directed by Bill Condon and the score was composed by Carter Burwell. It’s based on the book A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin.  I’d have to say that Ian McKellen and Laura Linney play off each other very well. What was even far more impressive was Milo Parker. His acting was really impressive for a child actor. I’ve found this movie to be really enjoyable and fun to watch.

The film isn’t a bore and it shows you how Sherlock Holmes could have been real and how even he struggled with not being able to solve his one last case. Portraying a 93 year old man as well as a man in his 60’s was really good. I have to give props to the makeup department for this film.  I was even giddy when he went to see a movie in a theater and the actor portraying Sherlock Holmes was the same actor who played Young Sherlock Holmes, Nicholas Rowe

I recommend this film to anyone. I won’t give too much away even though I’ve kind of spoiled things in this post. I hope that when I finally get to the real post, I’ll be just as enthusiastic!

Here though is one clip from the score and I hope you like it…
