Spaceballs

This is the ultimate farce of Star Wars and Star Trek movies. Mainly Star Wars related and it pokes fun at all sorts of genres. I think this movie is a really funny movie. Others would not agree and think its vulgar. If you see it for what it really is, a farce, then you can understand the humor in the movie.

The basic plot of Spaceballs is this…In a distant galaxy, planet Spaceball has depleted its air supply, leaving its citizens reliant on a product called “Perri-Air.” In desperation, Spaceball’s leader President Skroob (Mel Brooks) orders the evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) to kidnap Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) of oxygen-rich Druidia and hold her hostage in exchange for air. But help arrives for the Princess in the form of renegade space pilot Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his half-man, half-dog partner, Barf (John Candy).

The film is directed of course by Mel Brooks and the score is done by John Morris. Its fun and over the top.
