You may think that the childhood fantasy of creating a spaceship and enjoying space would be a wonderful thing. It was back in the 1980’s! Explorers was such a movie. It explored, pardon the pun, the world outside of our world. It gave us a young Ethan Hawk and crew that went out in their homemade spaceship and went to meet space aliens that were very friendly and comical. What does it teach us? Never to give up on our dreams of wonderment and enjoyment of life and exploration of something new and different. You’ll enjoy as you hear me talk about the background, the cast, the effects and of course the score by JERRY GOLDSMITH, which lately there has been a lot of discussion about since it was his recent birthday. I hope you enjoy this fantastic look back into the world of Explorers.
